Why Rockstar is not using real car names?

What is the reason for rockstar not to use real car names in GTA series? They renamed every single vehicle even if everybody knows (it is obvious) what is the real name of any car.

Many other big games, such as NFS, Midnight Club or Gran Turismo have real car names. So why doesn't rockstar?
